Specialists, Inc. will be presenting a training course at the
COSTHA
Annual Forum Sunday, April 22, 2007 from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. at the
Hilton Scottsdale Resort & Villas, Scottsdale, AZ. The training is
entitled “Understanding The Exceptions – Limited
Quantity/Consumer Commodity, MOTs and Other Exceptions”.
This
class will explore the regulatory relief available in the various
Hazardous Materials/Dangerous Goods Transportation Regulations. The course
includes all of the 2006 changes, as well as a preview of upcoming changes
that will impact shipments in 2007 and beyond. The advantages of
exceptions will be discussed and illustrated. Real world examples and
experiences will be used. Materials and discussions will cover these
topics and more:

- Packaging Testing
- Marking and Labeling
- Shipping Papers
- Materials of Trade
Most
importantly, differences between the modes of transport will be
explained and Consumer Commodity myths will be dispelled.
An
illustrated workbook, applicable letters of interpretation issued by the
Department of Transportation, and other reference materials are included
in the course materials.
Mr.
Holloway is Vice President of Safety Specialists, Inc. of Charlotte, North
Carolina. He is an experienced
trainer and safety advisor. His
experience includes over 37 years working in transportation and safety.
He has worked with a variety of companies including transportation,
distribution, manufacturing, trade associations and consulting
organizations. Safety
Specialists is involved in hazardous materials safety training,
development of safety programs, and compliance audits.
Ken’s training covers all types of transportation.
Ken
has been an instructor for The National Safety Council, COHMED, Council on
Safe Transportation of Hazardous Articles, Central Piedmont Community
College, Charlotte Regional Safety Schools, North Carolina Safety
Conference, North Carolina and the American Trucking Associations.
Ken
is a member of COHMED (Cooperative Hazardous Materials Education and
Development) and COSTHA (The Council on Safe Transportation of Hazardous
Articles).
